I'm Wrecked

When your vehicles collide and become wrecked they need to be removed from the transport network and replaced. This article explains the different ways you can replace your wrecked vehicles.

What Happened?

  • A wrecked vehicle most commonly occurs with trains when you do not have appropriate signals setup, however it does occasionally happen with road transport as well
    • I've even had buses turning around next to a rail and crashing into a train
  • When a vehicle is wrecked, there is no way to repair it, removal from the map is the only solution
  • However there are two different ways to replace the wrecked vehicle, this depends on whether or not you have removed the vehicle

Its advisable that you fix the reason why the accident occurred before replacing the vehicles and allowing another accident to occur.

NOTE: Before removing wrecked vehicles, write down the routes, or take screenshots beforehand. It's easy to get distracted and forget what you were doing.

Before Removing Wrecked Vehicle

This is the simplest way to replace a wrecked vehicle and can only be performed if you have NOT removed the wrecked vehicle already.

  • Click on the wrecked vehicle on the map to open it's window
  • Click on one of your vehicle garages/depots to open it's window and then click the Copy button
  • Click on the window of the wrecked vehicle

You now have a duplicate vehicle with the same route applied to it. Release the vehicle from the garage/depot and it is back in service again. At this point you can now remove the wrecked vehicle.

After Removing Wrecked Vehicle

If you have already removed the wrecked vehicle then you will need to create a new vehicle that will replace the now missing vehicle. Once you've created the vehicle, select the existing routes to assign to the vehicle.
